The five criteria that actually matter
Almost every disappointing back purchase fails on one of these five points, and almost every device people keep using passes all of them.
Note that raw power is not on the list. A stronger motor is not the same as a more useful device — the products people abandon are usually abandoned because of fit, cords or effort, never because they were not intense enough.
- Fit — does it actually fit your waist, including if you are above a 42-inch waist?
- Hands-free — can you use it while doing something else, or does it need a hand holding it?
- Cordless — does it tie you to a wall socket in one room?
- Multi-method — does it warm, support and massage, or only one of the three?
- Effort — will you still be using it in six weeks, or is it too much hassle?
